These Terms of Service govern access to and use of attested.education and the AttestEd verification service. By creating an account or submitting a verification request, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Effective October 2026.
AttestEd ("AttestEd", "we", "us") operates an independent verification service for claims made in applications to institutions of higher education in the United States, accessible at attested.education (the "Service"). Inquiries concerning these Terms may be directed to info@attested.education. Use of the Service constitutes acceptance of these Terms and of the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
The Service permits a registered user (the "Student") to submit activity and honor claims together with supporting evidence. AttestEd evaluates each claim against its published methodology and issues a report assigning an evidence tier to each claim (the "Report"). The Report is a statement regarding the strength of available evidence for specific claims. It is not an endorsement of the Student, a prediction of any outcome, or a representation of influence over any admissions decision. AttestEd maintains no relationship with any admissions office that affects admissions decisions.
Submission requires an account. The Student is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials and for all activity under the account. Where the Student is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must provide written consent before review begins, as set out in the Privacy Policy, and may exercise any right under these Terms on the Student's behalf.
Applicable fees are stated on the pricing page and at checkout. Preparation of a draft submission is free of charge. The fee is payable once, at the time of submission for review, by card through our payment processor. Fees may be revised between application cycles; the fee displayed at checkout is the fee charged. Students applying for full financial aid are eligible for discounts up to a full fee waiver, subject to attestation by their school counselor, in accordance with the equity commitment.
Standard reviews are returned within 48 hours of submission and expedited reviews within 8 hours of submission, measured from the time at which payment is complete and all required consents, including guardian consent where applicable, are in place.
Should AttestEd fail to meet the applicable turnaround window, the fee will be refunded in full and the Report will nonetheless be delivered. A submission cancelled before review begins is refunded in full. Once a Report has been delivered, the fee is non-refundable, the services having been performed; the appeal round described in Section 6 remains available. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days.
Each Report includes one appeal round. The Student may contest findings and submit further evidence within 14 days of delivery, whereupon the contested claims are re-examined by a reviewer not involved in the original determination. Appeals carry no additional fee and do not extend or restart the turnaround window.
The Report is issued to the Student as a PDF document and as a unique hyperlink suitable for inclusion in the Additional Information section of an application. The link remains active for eight months from the date of issue, after which it expires and the corresponding page is withdrawn. AttestEd does not transmit the Report, or the fact of the Student's use of the Service, to any third party on its own initiative.
The Service exists to verify truthful claims. Submission of fabricated or altered evidence, impersonation, or any attempt to manipulate the review process constitutes a material breach of these Terms and is grounds for refusal or termination of the Service without refund; a Report procured through fabricated evidence may be voided after issue. Claims are verified as phrased by the Student; revising the wording of a claim to conform to the available evidence is a proper use of the Service.
AttestEd verifies evidence and does not warrant any admissions outcome. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AttestEd's aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service shall not exceed the fees paid for the Report giving rise to the claim. Admissions decisions rest solely with the institutions that make them, and AttestEd accepts no liability in respect of such decisions.
Material amendments to these Terms will be posted on this page before taking effect; the version of these Terms in force at the time of payment governs the corresponding Report. These Terms are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
